How to track inventory across multiple marketplaces
Give every item a stock code, keep one inventory as the source of truth, and audit weekly. Tools can show where each item is listed so you stop searching marketplace by marketplace.
Updated October 2026. Crosslisty is a Chrome extension (it also works in Brave and Edge) that copies a listing to the other marketplaces, fills each form for you, and removes sold items from your other listings.
Give every item a stock code
Add a short code to every listing, such as “A123”, in the title end or SKU field. The code lets you find an item on any marketplace in seconds, and is the simplest defence against forgotten listings.
Keep one inventory
- A spreadsheet works: code, title, cost, price, marketplaces, status.
- Update it the moment an item lists or sells.
- Never treat any one marketplace’s dashboard as the whole truth.
Let a tool show where items are
Crosslisty keeps your imported listings in your browser and shows each item with a door for every marketplace: lit where you have sent it, and struck through where it has been removed. It can also export your inventory to CSV, so you can keep the spreadsheet in step.
Audit weekly
- Spot-check the oldest ten items on each marketplace.
- Search each marketplace for codes you have marked sold.
- Fix anything that is still live and should not be.
