How to crosslist from Mercari to Etsy
Crosslisting from Mercari to Etsy means putting the same item up for sale on both marketplaces, so more buyers see it. Done by hand, it means downloading photos and retyping every field. With Crosslisty it takes three clicks, and you still check the listing before it goes live.
Step by step
- Import from Mercari. Open your item on Mercari and click Import to Crosslisty at the bottom right. It saves the photos, title, description, price, brand, size and condition in your browser.
- Send to Etsy. Press Etsy in the card that appears, or in the Crosslisty popup. The Etsy listing form opens in a new tab.
- Check and post. Crosslisty uploads the photos and fills the fields. Its checklist shows anything it could not fill, with a button that jumps to the field. Fix those, then press Etsy's own post button.
What carries over to Etsy
- Photos: full-size, up to 20 per listing.
- Title: Etsy titles are limited to 140 characters, so long Mercari titles are trimmed at a word boundary.
- Description: up to 10,000 characters, with brand, size and condition added on one line.
- Price: copied as is, or raised or lowered by the percentage you set to cover Etsy's fees.
- Category and condition: picked from Etsy's dropdowns when a close match exists. If not, the checklist tells you to pick them.
Before you post on Etsy
You need an Etsy shop, and Etsy only allows handmade items, vintage items at least 20 years old, and craft supplies. Make sure your item qualifies before you post.
