Is crosslisting software a waste of money for a small seller?
Asked on Reddit: “Small hobbyist seller...is a cross listing software a waste of money?” in r/Flipping
For a small seller it is worth it only if it costs nothing or close to it. Work out the break-even in minutes saved per listing, and use a free plan first. Crosslisty’s free plan covers 5 form fills a day with no time limit.
The shortcut: Crosslisty’s free plan is built for small sellers: 5 fills a day on all seven marketplaces, no card, no time limit. Pro is $9 a month if you outgrow it.
Add to Chrome, freeUpdated October 2026. Crosslisty is a Chrome extension (it also works in Brave and Edge) that copies a listing to the other marketplaces, fills each form for you, and removes sold items from your other listings.
The break-even check
A crosslisting tool is a trade of money for time. Do the sum once, with your own numbers:
- Time one manual crosslist: open the item, save the photos, retype the title, description, price, brand, size and category on the second marketplace.
- Time the same item with the tool, including checking the form.
- Multiply the minutes saved by the items you crosslist in a month.
- Value those hours at what your time is worth, and compare with the monthly price.
As an example only: if you save 6 minutes an item, list 20 items a month and value your time at $15 an hour, you save about 2 hours or $30. A $9 plan clears that. A $45 plan does not.
Why small sellers should not pay for volume they do not use
- Many tools price by listings per month. If you list 15 items a month, a plan sized for 500 is money for nothing.
- Features such as bulk actions and analytics matter at hundreds of items, not dozens.
- The biggest saving for a small seller is the first marketplace after your first. Adding a fourth saves less each time.
What a small seller actually needs
- Photos, title and description copied to the next marketplace without retyping.
- Each marketplace’s title and description limits handled for you.
- A reliable way to take sold items down elsewhere, so nothing sells twice.
- A price you can walk away from if sales slow down.
Where Crosslisty fits
The free plan gives 5 fills a day. One fill is one marketplace form filled in, so sending one item to two marketplaces is two fills. That is up to about 150 form fills a month for nothing, which covers most hobby sellers. Sale checks and removals are not counted against the limit. Pro is unlimited fills for $9 a month or $89 a year.
It is a desktop Chrome, Brave or Edge extension, so it does not suit someone who lists only from a phone.
When it is not worth it
- You sell on a single marketplace.
- You list a few items a year.
- You list only from your phone, where a desktop extension cannot help.
- Your items sell in days anyway and a second marketplace adds little.
Questions
Is crosslisting worth it for a hobby seller?
Yes if it saves you real time and costs little. Time one manual crosslist and one with a tool, then compare the minutes saved with the monthly price.
Is there a free crosslisting tool for small sellers?
Yes. Crosslisty’s free plan has no time limit and allows 5 form fills a day. See what the free plan includes.
How many marketplaces should a beginner list on?
Two or three. Start where your buyers are, and add more only once you can keep up with delisting. Where to sell what.
Do I need a paid plan to delist sold items?
Not with Crosslisty. Sale checks and removals work on the free plan. Only form fills count toward the daily limit.
